The home school art studio is for children who are schooled at home, providing a space in which they are encouraged to explore their own creative expression. In the studio we will develop and extend skills in painting, drawing, mixed media and pottery sculpture. We have a huge range of creative activities planned while at the same time leaving room for children to work on their own ideas and projects.  The focus of these sessions is on the process of learning and building confidence while developing skills in a variety of media. This class will have a big emphasis on individual development and experimentation.

Approaches to art making will include:

o        Painting & Mixed Media: Drawing inspiration from the artworks of masters like Picasso & Matisse students will create their own masterpiece on stretched canvas using acrylic paints & mixed media techniques.

o        Drawing: get back to the fundamentals of artwork by using this session to learn how to look at an object and see proportion, tone, perspective and shape. Then use these skills to draw the objects you see. Brighten up your drawing then with ink and watercolour to give an illustrative feel to your creations.

o        Pottery Sculpture: everybody loves to get their hands into a stack of squishy clay! There is nothing better to teach students about dimension than by crating functional sculptures from clay. Artworks will then be bisque fired, then returned for glazing, then glaze fired ready to take home.
