뉴질랜드의 매년 2월은 자전거의 달(Bike Wise)입니다.
뉴질랜드의 전국 50여 도시 시장도 참여하는 Mayoral Bike Ride 행사도 열리는데 뉴질랜드인들이 친환경 생활 수단에 대한 이해를 고취하고, 왕성한 야외 레저활동을 권장하는 캠페인으로 매년 학교마다 자전거 안전교육, 바이애슬론 등 28개의 각종 행사가 열리고 있습니다.
이번주 일요일 (3월6일) 오전 10시부터 타우랑가 서쪽 (해밀턴방향) 타우리코 레이크스 주택단지 안에서 타우랑가 시장, 국회의원 가족들과 시민 가족들이 대거 참가하는 자전거의 달 마지막 축제가 열립니다.
오전 10시부터 시작되는 레이크스(The Lakes) Sales Pavilion에 도착하시면 시장상(자전거 등 각종 상품 패키지) 경품에
응모하는 접수대도 있고, 많은 상품도 있다고 합니다. 자전거 타기 좋아하는 자녀들 데리고 한번 나들이 가보세요...

Bike wise month has been a fantastic month to have a go at everything cycling and biking.
With about 28 events across the month, there has been something for everyone from BMX to bike maintenance workshops.
If you haven't been to an event yet, it's not too late, support Bike Wise month and come along to the Mayoral Bike Ride.
Every year with Bike Wise month, the quest is on to find the most cycle mad city.
Mayors in more than 50 centres across the country will be donning yellow jackets and calling on locals and families to join them on a fun social bike ride.
The Mayoral Bike Ride is the celebration finale for Bike Wise month. Come along and join Mayor Crosby, Mayor Paterson and Simon Bridges for a family ride around The Lakes.
The aim of the ride is to get as many people participating as possible. This ride is a highlight of Bike Wise month, a nationwide campaign aimed at getting Kiwis more active and enjoying biking as a viable means of transport.
The winner of the Bike Wise major prize will be announced.
So if you have been along to any Bike Wise event and have filled out an entry form be here on the day for the chance to win the major prize package including an Avanti Discovery Bike, helmet, bike pump, tool kit, saddle bag, cycle shirt, drink bottle and holder.
There will also be loads more prizes to give away on the day.
