뉴질랜드 오투모에타이 인터미디어트 유학생들의 영어 발표회

뉴질랜드 타우랑가에 위치한 오투모에타이 인터미디어트 (Otumoetai Intermediate) 학교의 해외 유학생들을 위한 연말 영어 발표회와 파티!

교장 선생님과 ESOL 영어 선생님, 뉴질랜드 홈스테이 가족들,  저희 사무실의 올리브 선생님도 함께 참석하셨습니다.

지난 2년간 이 학교에 재학중인던 우리 학생들이 이제 내일 모레면 다시 한국으로 귀국합니다.

학생들 한명 한명 모두 그동안 뉴질랜드, 타우랑가에서의 유학 생활을 정리하는 프리젠테이션도 했고요. 

많은 상도 받았습니다. 

이 발표회를 위해 학생들은 그동안 영어 연극도 참 열심히 연습을 했습니다.  

 

 

 

 

 교장선생님의 특별상 시상. 

 

지수,혜수도 지난 2년간 뉴질랜드 유학생활을 보여주는 슬라이드쇼 프리젠테이션도 했고요, 

이날 행사의 공동사회를 맡아 진행했습니다.  

 

 

 예쁜 여학생들은 한복을 입고 나와서 한복을 소개했고요.

 하이힐에 드레스까지 입혀놓으니... 그동안 참 많이 컷습니다.

     그동안 영어 과외로 정들었던 올리브 선생님을 초대한 이유가 여기..

 연극 안에 올리브선생님이 주례 선생님으로 등장을 하게 각복을 짜 놓았다고 하네요.

 귀여운 녀석들...

 

 

 신랑과 신부의 성별이 바뀌어 있네요.

 

 

 

 

 지난 한해에도 우리 유학생들 영어 공부 도와주신 티나 ESOL 선생님.

 

 

 

 부모님들이 한가지씩 집에서 준비해주신 음식도 나눠먹었습니다.

정든 학교, 정든 친구들과 방학을 앞두고 마지막...

 

 다음은 도훈이가 그동안 정든 학교, 뉴질랜드 타우랑가를 떠나는 소감을 담은 영어 원고입니다.

 

For the last one-sixth of my life.

 

 

For the last one-sixth of my life I've been a free range chicken but unfortunately I am going back to the cage.

 

 

When I leave New Zealand on 20th December, I'll take home many happy memories and a few library books, kidding.

 

 

Two years ago when I left my family to come here everyone was crying. We didn't know much about the tiny island at the bottom of the world. Now we are going back and I reckon we'll all be crying again because we'll be leaving our second home behind.

 

At first we were home sick at Tauranga but we all settled in. I have enjoyed the summer at the beach. We spent a few weeks exploring before school started, I still remember the first time I walked into the school my first thought was 'what am I gonna do among these gorillas?'

 

 

The time when I couldn't hear, speak, understand English well was a very harsh time. Chrissy, who hid in the toilet and ate the korean food because she didn't want to show them to her class students.

 

Jiwoo, who had always played with her korean friends,

Me, who was ditched by my friends but we never cried even if we wanted to go back to korea.

 

Anyway once I got over my shock and I started enjoying my school, I liked the relaxed style of education here, It gives students freedom and makes them creative also I am going home much healthier thanks to the fresh air, golf and tennis. Of course highlights of my time here always have been lunch time..

 

 

I have made some life-long friends here, I'd like to thank all the teachers who've helped me during my time at O.I.S.

 

 

When people ask me why I came to New Zealand to study, well I always used to say because 'My mum told me to,' well now I can answer you, to learn about the world and to have a broader mind and of course to learn English.

 

 

This will help me in my future ambition which is to be a diplomat, I can share my country with the rest of the world as well as New Zealand.

 

 

I'll never forget you all or the school, I can assure you that you will be able to meet me at the Korean Embassy in New Zealand.
