Be inspired to explore the outdoors by joining Conservation Week 을 맞아 다양한 야외 행사가  8월 6일부터 12일까지 열린다.

 

 karangahake Family Fun Day

Place: Karangahake Gorge, SH 2 between Paeroa and Waihi

           (오클랜드방향 와이히와 파이로아 중간 계곡)

Date: 8월 12일 일요일 

Time: 11am-3pm

Activity: Celebrate the industrial heritage of the Karangahake Gorge with the Department of Conservation and local community groups with a range of fun activities. Discover gold in the Karangahake with a miners’ scavenger hunt. Meet the inhabitants of a recreated bushman’s camp. Visit the newly opened Woodstock Underground Pumphouse. Visit the Victoria Battery site, museum and model railway. Cost: Free!

Guided Walks in the Karangahake Gorge

Place: Karangahake Gorge (와이히와 파이로아 사이 산과 계곡)

Date: 8월6일 월요일 

Time: Morning and afternoon sessions

Activity: Join the Department of Conservation (DOC) and Sport Waikato for a fun one hour guided walk in the Karangahake Gorge.

 This is an opportunity for your students to learn about active living, local historic and natural conservation from the organisations that work in the parks and sports industry in the Coromandel/ Waikato Area.

 For year 5-8 school groups only. Numbers strictly limited.

Cost: Free!

Kopurererua Valley Planting Day

Place: 타우랑가 17번가 끝 히스토릭빌리지 앞 집결 

Date: 8월 12일 일요일

Time: 오전 10시

Activity: Help plant 7,000 native plants to enhance the beauty of the Kopurererua Valley. Planting will be followed by a free sausage sizzle.

Bring sturdy footwear, gumboots preferred, and weather appropriate clothing. Spades are optional. Cost: Free!

The ‘Pinnacles Challenge’

Place: Kauaeranga Valley, Thames

Date: Friday 10 August

Time: Starting 8am

Activity: Join DOC and Sport Waikato on the Inaugural Pinnacles Challenge.

 This is a one-day tramp from the Kauaeranga Valley road end to the Pinnacles Hut, NZ’s largest back-country hut, and beyond to the famed Pinnacles Rocks themselves (elevation 800m+).

 Local businesses and community leaders are being invited to join in!

 A reasonable level of fitness required for this 5 – 6 hour tramp. 

 Good walking boots, warm clothing, rain jacket, lunch and water essential

 Cost: Free
