Tuhua (Mayor Island), the Bay of Plenty’s largest off-shore island and Aerius Helicopterswill feature on Australia's Channel 9 Getaway travel programme this week. The Getaway crew filmed the show in 2009 after meeting Shane Jeffcoat from Aerius Helicopters at TRENZ.
Tuhua is once again open for visitors from 23 October. Island accommodation consists of basic cabins along with tent sites. The beauty of the island is in its remoteness - there is no shop, limited power and no roads.
